A study supported by RGS@home investigates the effects of confinement on mental health.

The study conducted via the SPECS-lab, confirms that confinement has negative and detrimental effects on mental health. Through an innovative study based on evaluating photographs, the scientists conclude that the perception of images has varied with confinement. This method is also part of a mobile application prototype to monitor people’s well-being and possibly help to prevent depression and other diseases such as stroke. The study was carried out by the SPECS laboratory at IBEC, led by ICREA professor Paul Verschure.
